A Psalm of Life

Tell me not, in mournful numbers, a
Life is but an empty dream!- b
For the soul is dead that slumbers, a
And things are not what they seem. b

Life is real! Life is earnest! c
And the grave is not its goal; d
Dust thou art, to dust returnest, c
Was not spoken of the soul. d

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow, e
Is our destined end or way; f
But to act that each tomorrow e
Finds us farther than today. f

Art is long, and Time is fleeting, g
And our hearts, though stout and brave, h
Still, like muffled drums, are beating g
Funeral marches to the grave. h

In the world’s broad field of battle, i
In the bivouac of Life, j
Be not like dumb, driven cattle! i
Be a hero in the strife! j

Trust no Future, howe’er pleasant! k
Let the dead Past bury its dead! l
Act,- act in the living Present! k
Heart within, and God o’erhead! l

Lives of great men all remind us m
We can make our lives sublime, n
And, departing, leave behind us m
Footprints in the sands of time; n

Footprints that perhaps another, o
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main, p
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother; o
Seeing, shall take heart again. p

Let us, then, be up and doing, q
With a heart for any life; r
Still achieving, still pursuing, q
Learn to labor and to wait. r

The poem is composed of nine quatrains.

David Archuleta

Here is an edited photo of David Archuleta with some favorite songs listed. Read them and find out which of his songs are my favorite. Oh, and that's not yet the complete list of all my fave songs. There are yet to come!

Silhouette Frames

I have been dreaming this for my room. Of course, I want my own silhouettes.  And I also want silhouettes of birds and flowers and vines too. That's me! A person who has a heart for nature.

Desserts for Dinner

Just before going straight home, I passed by a grocery store to buy ice cream because both my sister were craving for Temptation Berry Strawberry. So by popular demand, I granted her wish and bought two. We ate it right after dinner for our desserts. It was a good timing. Not all the time I would go to the grocery store at the moment this favorite ice cream flavor of mine is sold.

:)loving strawberry ice cream very much!

We Never Leave Bacolod Without Visiting A Waterfall

It is true. We rarely go to Bacolod or the Province of Negros but as far as I can remember, our first stop is to travel for almost two hours just to reach a mountain resort where there are waterfalls. And here are our pictures!

Here is a picture of me sitting on a boulder. The number one reason why I had a picture taken is because of the white flowers in the background. There is actually nothing wrong with this picture until my mother laughed at it saying I looked like a fairy in the forest. Who cares? Still I love it. The background, I mean. :)))

At Afriques

It was a Thursday afternoon, September 13, when our group of friends went straight to Afrique's Restaurant near Atrium to celebrate my friend's birthday. Okay. I have a confession. That Thursday was actually my first time to eat at Afrique's. Thanks to Dia who chose that restaurant. If not for her, I don't when I might be able to enter the doors of Afrique's for the first time.

First thing, I was surprised by looking at our table. Food was already served and when I saw our drinks, I stared at it. I haven't tasted it yet. Yeah. Lemonade. Is it? I am not sure. It tasted great and another factor why like it a lot is its color. MINT GREEN (if you will take a close look at it.)

It also has cucumbers. I ate them, actually.

I hope someday I can sit and eat at Afrique's again and experience the same luxury, comfort and fun it gave us customers.

Modern House Drawing

I drew this during one Social Studies class. And yeah. My teacher told me to stop. So I did. I think being an architect is quite not possible now that my parents want me to become a doctor. Until now, I am confused between the two courses. Great. Thanks to my parents to want me to become a doctor and to my sister who keeps telling me to pursue my dreams of being an architect.

Young Wild and Free

This drew this doodle during our Filipino class. I got bored that time. Thanks to my back seatmate, Dia, and to my friends, Shaira and Shiela who suggested some of the stuff I will draw.

Keep Calm and Make a Difference

Finally! The bag designs for our fund-raising activity are here now.

I really really like this pink one. I don't know but I got a thing for pink stuff. Don't get me wrong. Green is still my favorite color.

And here it is! I like this more than any other of the five. Green!!!

I only hope that many will buy our bags.

:)))

Spray the World with AC Love

Guess what. I got bored last night while waiting for my sister to finish reading the newspaper. So I just made another edited photo and this is dedicated to my school.

:)))

Hide Your Tears, Fairy

Okay. I am a total addict already. This is my third post of edited photos already.

This edited photo tells something about hiding one's sadness. You may have a different interpretation.

I prefer this last photo. It describes me. Whenever I have problems or when I am down, I would stay in the terrace at home and just stare at the starry night. If not, I would listen to music and go sentimental again.

The photos used in this edited photo are all from the internet.

Make A Difference

This is one of the designs I made for our merchandise. It speaks of our school's thrust this year which focuses on listening and making a difference.

It's very simple but we have already attracted several buyers in school.

Dancing On the Water

I was bored last Sunday night so I edited some photos I downloaded from the net.

This is the final output. I was inspired by the Step Up 4 but I was not able to find the exact picture of the two main characters. So I just downloaded this photo.

Hedgehogs!!!

Here is a photo of my assignment in CAE about the ZooM. This mean Zoo on the Move. A group of exotic pet owners who go from school to school and show their pets such as hedgehogs and snakes to the learners.

Here is the finished product of what I did last Saturday night. I spent about three hours doing this in one sitting.

Dreaming to be an Architect But Needs to be a Doctor

These are some of the photos taken from my secret notebook. It is a simple design of what I want my room to look like. Not exactly look the same because I did not include the too detailed stuff like bulletin board, paintings and hanging stuff.

I made a layout of what I want my cabinet to look like. I want it to have a sliding door so to save space since my room is not that wide

And here are two pictures of my lame designs of houses. :))) Just trying hard to design a very unique one.

One Boring School Day

Here is a picture of what I did last year during our Math class. I did this when I was bored. Our lesson was about Imaginary Numbers and I found it boring so I shifted my attention to doodling.

I am sorry if it's not rotated to the right view.

The Ruins

Summer’s over but this doesn’t stop me from sharing to you about my summer trip last May. Bacolod is always our number one destination every holidays or vacations. Why? First, it’s where my father is assigned. Second, it’s nearer to Iloilo compared to other places. And lastly, it is fully packed with a lot of scenic views of nature’s wonders, historical sites and a few malls for night outs making it an ideal summer destination especially for nature lovers, like me.

I like this fountain very much! This I guess is the most romantic place it the palace. It reminds me of the movie "Prom".

The is the main door of the burnt palace.

This is my elder sister in her jump shot.

So here are just a few of the photos taken from The Ruins. This is the remnant of the burnt mansion during the 1800s. I forgot the exact date when it was built and burned.

This is a photo of the construction of the Ruins.

Plaid in a Bow

I started my weekend by making as many bows as I can. Just look at the several strips of cloth needed to make bows.

At the end of the end, I was able to make twenty- four bows. Thanks to our helpers!

:)

Language of Friendship

This artwork was done when I was still in Grade 6. So hello! I still have it in my Memories Box! (the yellow green box if you've read the post)

Almost all of my classmates wrote short messages on this paper. there are even a few written at the back but  the writings are so light that they cannot be read even if I will post it here.

Shining. Shimmering. Splendid.

This is a Christmas gift from a woman I now consider my second mother. She gave me this last year.

This pink robot-and-phone bracelet is a souvenir gift from my friend, Elissa last year also. I really love wearing this because it always catches the attention of people. Thanks to Elissa's good choice!

This one is my aunt's pasalubong from New Zealand. I rarely wear it because I prefer using it on special occasions.
