We Never Leave Bacolod Without Visiting A Waterfall

It is true. We rarely go to Bacolod or the Province of Negros but as far as I can remember, our first stop is to travel for almost two hours just to reach a mountain resort where there are waterfalls. And here are our pictures!

Here is a picture of me sitting on a boulder. The number one reason why I had a picture taken is because of the white flowers in the background. There is actually nothing wrong with this picture until my mother laughed at it saying I looked like a fairy in the forest. Who cares? Still I love it. The background, I mean. :)))

At Afriques

It was a Thursday afternoon, September 13, when our group of friends went straight to Afrique's Restaurant near Atrium to celebrate my friend's birthday. Okay. I have a confession. That Thursday was actually my first time to eat at Afrique's. Thanks to Dia who chose that restaurant. If not for her, I don't when I might be able to enter the doors of Afrique's for the first time.

First thing, I was surprised by looking at our table. Food was already served and when I saw our drinks, I stared at it. I haven't tasted it yet. Yeah. Lemonade. Is it? I am not sure. It tasted great and another factor why like it a lot is its color. MINT GREEN (if you will take a close look at it.)

It also has cucumbers. I ate them, actually.

I hope someday I can sit and eat at Afrique's again and experience the same luxury, comfort and fun it gave us customers.

The Ruins

Summer’s over but this doesn’t stop me from sharing to you about my summer trip last May. Bacolod is always our number one destination every holidays or vacations. Why? First, it’s where my father is assigned. Second, it’s nearer to Iloilo compared to other places. And lastly, it is fully packed with a lot of scenic views of nature’s wonders, historical sites and a few malls for night outs making it an ideal summer destination especially for nature lovers, like me.

I like this fountain very much! This I guess is the most romantic place it the palace. It reminds me of the movie "Prom".

The is the main door of the burnt palace.

This is my elder sister in her jump shot.

So here are just a few of the photos taken from The Ruins. This is the remnant of the burnt mansion during the 1800s. I forgot the exact date when it was built and burned.

This is a photo of the construction of the Ruins.

The City on Peaks

When someone tells you, " we are going to a place on top of a mountain", you would think of a town or an eco park. And a city will never come to your mind. But what about Baguio? This is so far the most well-known city lying on the mountains of Central Luzon. I don't have any idea how that city reahed the mounatains, maybe because it was first a town, then it reached the population good enough to be city. I really don't know. Whatever its origin is, the thing is, we were able to visit the place.

Okay, to start. When we got off the bus, I felt the cold breeze touching my skin tissues, so I took my jacket and wore it. We took two taxis because we were seven in totality ( sister, mother, and me, plus four ilonggos who will also be attending the same conference my mom will). Upon reaching, the rest house where we will be staying for four days, I immediately checked the two rooms. i was disappoointed when seeing not a single air condition. I mean, it is a rest house, how come there's not a single aircon?

So off, we went to Mines View Park, took a picture of the scenery, bought souvenirs and all, ate at Chowking and went back to the rest house. Okay, this time, I was feeling really, really cold. I don't even want to take a half bath. I was so sorry for under estimating the owner of the rest house for failing to meet the expectations of the customer just because of having no aircon. I am so dumb. I think I was totally out of my mind that I forgot that we are in Baguio, the Summer Capital of the country because of its cool temperature even during summer. Allow me repeat that, COOL temperature. I take back all my complains earlier... my fault.

As a whole, I enjoyed my stay in Baguio. They had a cheaper flagdown on taxi cabs (25 pesos) compared to Iloilo (40 pesos!!!), stoplights in almost every intersection of roads ( I see nothing here in Iloilo, most are... broken, aren't they?) and for some reasons, I find it safer there. I don't have to take to emphasis everything that happened there. The usual thing, of course, Burnham Park with the boating thingy, Mines View Park, Botanical Garden, et cetera- et cetera. Important thing is , I like it there. I enjoyed my stay in the city on peaks- BAGUIO.
